Coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you are planning on travelling distance to attractions, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

RSPB Baron's Haugh Reserve

A real gem for wildlife and for visitors too. Spend time in one of the four hides, looking out at the ducks and swans on the haugh, or take a walk through the woods - in the spring you might hear woodpeckers and nuthatches, while in the winter whooper swans feed on the flooded meadows. If you're lucky you may even see a kingfisher or an otter on the river. Most paths are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, but may be muddy in bad weather and are steep in places. Wheelchair visitors, please call the reserve in advance for advice.
Open at all times.
Free, but donations to help the RSPB continue their work here are welcome.
If you do visit with your dog please ensure it is kept under proper control and away from the livestock, wetlands and pools. Please clean up after your dog.
